Termination Letter Template

A termination letter template is a formal legal notice, provided to an employee stating that he/she has been terminated from their current job, agreement or contract. In other words, a termination letter refers to a notice of dismissal between two organizations or between a contractual relationship. In an employee termination letter, the employer or manager includes the reasons for his/her dismissal, which can be used as legitimate evidence against any lawsuit, although it can’t be used against a wrongful termination lawsuit. This letter may also include information about their reverence pay, their last paycheck, and other relevant information regarding the employee. In order to make sure employees are informed beforehand about their dismissal, which is mandatory so that employees don’t feel degraded and misguided.

Notice Before Termination:

Employers must warn or inform that a termination letter may be coming, whether that may be through an email or via a mobile phone. On the other hand, notice of breach or dismissal of contract between two organizations must be strictly professional and the two parties must have a positive tone under all circumstances. In certain cases, any one of the two entities might try to re-negotiate the reasons for dismissal and might state purposes for their renewal. Likewise, termination letters between spouses include all the reasons and clarification under the rules and regulations of law. This termination letter happens when both the entities cease to be affiliated with one another. This notice contains all the information regarding the division of their assets, property, and anything that is shared between the two.

Common Reasons of Writing a Termination Letter:

Termination letter template is used to write this letter professionally, especially when an employee is being fired from his/her current job or employment. It serves as the final and ultimate notification for an employee that he/she is found quality on certain grounds and based on recommendations, he/she is fired from job. Termination letters can be considered very painful yet crucial letters as far as the documentation system of an organization is concerned. That’s why a termination letter must be created in the best professional way. A termination letter can be issued based on following conditions;

• Voluntarily Termination: In this type of termination, an employee takes the initiative to leave the organization. In terms of business, one of the two parties may voluntarily withdraw their services earlier than the expiration of the contract. These actions may be taken due to disrespectful behavior or a toxic work environment. Whereas, one of the two spouses might try to divorce the other with all the reasoning and explanation.

• Involuntarily Termination: in this type of Termination, the employer removes the employees from the organization. Or one of the two entities may involuntarily be pushed out of the contract without confirmation. This may be due to low performance. In married couples, one individual may try to divorce the other without any explanation.

• At will Termination: This termination indicates that an employer may fire employees without stating any reason or without clarifying the dismissal of an employee from an organization. In terms of business, only a large company can act this way, and may extra their services without giving a chance to the other party.

• Mutual Termination: Mutual termination indicates an agreement that both parties agree on mutually. And an employer and an employee may both agree mutually for the dismissal of an employee from the organization. Or the two companies may agree on the same point and terminate their contract earlier than the expiration of the contract. On the other hand, two spouses might agree on the separation mutually and end their relationship.
